26 Years Ago Today, at 5:24 am, I Was Blessed With The Most Beautiful Baby Girl Ever. My World Was FOREVER Changed. I Knew Back Then That There Was Something Unique About You, Something Special. When I Was Pregnant With You I Was So Afraid I Would Lose You, Like My Two Children Before You. That Fear Was Now Gone. But Deep Down, There Was Always A Fear That You Were Going To Be Taken From Me. I Even Had A Very Vivid Dream Of A Spirit, I Thought To Be Your Great Grandma, Hovering Over Your Crib, Coming To Take You. I Stopped Her & Said She Couldn’t Have You. I Woke Up In Tears & That Day Increased My Fear That You Would Be Taken From Me. It Is Like I Knew Back Then That Something Or Someone Was Going To Take You Away. I Was Like The Secret Service With You & Your Brother’s. I Did Everything In My Power To Protect All Of You From All The Harmful Things In This World. I Did So Because That Fear Was Always Inside Of Me. But All That Protection Didn’t Matter In The End, Because I Couldn’t Protect You Or Save You.

My Worst Fears Came To Life, June 4, 2001. The Beginning Of Your Journey & Ours Into The World Of Childhood Cancer. Once Again, My World Was Changed FOREVER, Only This Time, It Was Your World Changed As Well & I Felt So Helpless. I Did Everything I Could In My Power To Protect You & Now It Was Over, Nothing I Did Protected You From This Monster. This Was The Beginning Of The Impact You Would Have On Us, Our Family & Everyone Who Meet You & Even Those Who Never Meet You. May 20, 2008~2nd Diagnosis. 2nd Cancer~ November 13, 2014~3rd Diagnosis, August 4, 2016~4th Diagnosis.

Baby Girl, You Showed Us All How To Live. You Showed Us What Strength & Determination Was. You Taught Us To Be Positive No Matter What Was Thrown Our Way. Your Philosophy Was, “It Could Be Worse & For Someone Else It Is.” You Showed Us That We Should Love Everyone, Even People We Have Never Meet. You Showed Us That We As Human Beings, Were Meant To Care For & Do For Other’s, Especially Those Who Could Not Do For Themselves. Those Who Needed Us The Most. YOU SHOWED US WHAT UNCONDITIONAL LOVE MEANT. YOU SHOWED US WHAT IT MEANT TO LOVE OTHERS MORE THAN YOU LOVE YOURSELF. YOU SHOWED US THAT ON THE DAY YOU DECIDED, AT 17 YEARS OLD, TO RISK YOUR LIFE FOR OTHER CHILDREN, WHAT IT MEANT TO BE A TRUE HERO.

Ashley Elizabeth Montgomery, You Defined Selfless, Kind, Caring, Compassionate, Loving, Positive, Determined, Perseverance, The List Goes On & On. You Wanted To Live Your Life, More Than Anyone I Had Ever Known, Yet You Still Took The Risk Knowing It Could Lead To The Ultimate Sacrifice. You Are Beyond A HERO Ashley. Father Jason Was Right, If There Was Anyone I Have Ever Known, That Lived A Life Much Like That Of Jesus, IT WAS YOU. WE DIDN’T RAISE YOU, YOU RAISED US…………………..

On Friday, April 21, 2017, At 3pm, My Worst Fear Came True. You Left This World & You Took A BIG Part Of Me With You. My World Is FOREVER Changed Again. My World Went Dark & I Entered An Eternal Hell. I Do Not Know How To Exist In A World Without You. My Love For Your Brother’s Is What Keeps Me From Drowning In My Pain.
